A 'New Lace'...

Some photo's of my samples/ideas from this personal project. Designs are either laser cut or are flocking which I have had cut on the plotter cutter and then transfered onto different surfaces including fabric and glass using the heat press. I love the intricacy and delicate feel and the look of them when they are held up to the light or a window and the white flock appears almost black and they become more transparent. I hope to develop these ideas further for my final degree show and produce large scale pieces...

Third Year Personal Project: Initial Drawing...

For my personal project I have focused on the idea of creating a new lace...
To achieve this I began by drawing from lace and flora and started producing designs which have obvious associations with lace but with more of a contemporary feel and approach. Now we've handed the project in I have time to post some images! Here are some of my initial drawings...
